Hope

Hope

Longing to break-free from unspeakable plight
anxiously waiting for a tiny ray of light
Searching for answers deep within
Darkness out, brightness in

Inspite of all the world's grief and pain
you don't quite feel it is all in vain
Just when you thought, all else is lost
You are reminded of what it cost

continue to fight, you dont loose ground
you place trust on something profound
that which is ethereal, that which is great
that which never wears out, never late

Like a morning dew, a beautiful sunset, a moment of bliss
That which redeems you from your darkest abyss
A reason to put your mind to rest
Hope is a great thing, probably the best

Solitude

Alone

Gone are the times of laughter and mirth.
doubt settles in, questioning purpose of birth.
Darkness engulfs you, consuming all light
No shoulder to cry on, not a soul in sight

Pain wenches your heart, you ache to cry
yet you dont know the reason why
you search and search but can't seem to find
malice and hate seems to fill your mind.

No control, no direction, you are lost in thought
No victories for all the battles you fought
Your mind plays tricks, your reality is hazy
you want to break free, but are too lazy.

Limbs freeze, body rigid, mind wrapped in fear
the very last of breath, last drop of tear
your world gets smaller, you silently moan
you may have friends in hundreds, yet you are alone
